Hanoi - Vietnam's postponement of a scheduled visit by Israeli President Shimon Peres reflects international sensitivities, not Vietnamese sentiment, experts said Monday.Vietnam asked Peres Friday to postpone his visit, originally scheduled a week later, because of international tensions after an Israeli commando raid in which nine activists in an aid convoy were killed last week while trying to break Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip. Police officer charged in shooting of protestors in Vietnam

Hanoi - A Vietnamese police officer was charged with manslaughter for allegedly shooting and killing two unarmed protestors last week, a police official said Monday.Hundreds of villagers in the northern province of Thanh Hoa whose land was taken for the construction of an oil refinery were demonstrating at the construction site May 25 when the officer allegedly fired three shots into the crowd.
