30 years ago a vessel which was called "Cap Anamur"
arrived in Hamburg with the first Vietnamese
refugees of the former Republic of South Vietnam.
Special guests were Dr. Rupert Neudeck, the founder of the
Cap Anamur Campaign and *Dr. Philipp Rösler, minister
for economy and transportation of the state Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen).
With the help of Mr. Neudeck, the German government
and the German people many lifes were rescued.
This memorial is also in remember of the
"boat people" who died while the escaping.
